Past Adoptions

My Name is Lavender. I am an 8 year old Blue Tick Beagle and I am looking for my forever family. I lived in Alabama with one family for a long time. I guess they decided they didn't want me anymore and took me to that scary place called a shelter. I was so sad and scared and lonely there that I stopped eating or doing anything else really. The nice people there got really worried and called The London Sanctuary and they drove all the way to Alabama to get me. Now I am in a nice Foster home with a bunch of four-legged brothers and sisters and 2 human ones too. My foster mom and dad are really nice and love me, but I want a mom and dad of my own. I promise once you meet me, you will fall in love. I am spayed, up to date on all my shots, Heartworm negative, housebroken and crate trained. I am very mellow and get along with all creatures, canine, feline, human both adult and baby form. I just love long car rides, short leash walks, napping in the sun and on soft couches, having my nails painted ( lavender of course) and more than anything in the world....belly rubs! If you are looking for a best friend, I am your gal. We need each other. Won't you give me a chance?
Here is the adorable King. He is a one year old miniature Dachshund and weighs only 6 lbs. He is currently available through Twilight Bark rescue and is being fostered in Jacksonville. His foster mom says he is a very lovable boy who likes to spend half of his time cuddling and half his time playing like a the pup he is. He is excellent with all pets, people and children. King is awaiting his neuter and is working hard on housebreaking. He also has a severe skin condition due to neglect. He is currently being treated and is showing great improvement. He should be available for adoption mid Early May.
Here is Maggie. She is a beautiful 8 to 10 year old Plott Hound. She was rescued just hours before euthanasia from a high-kill shelter. And, now she is searching for the perfect forever home! Maggie is spayed, heartworm-negative, and up-to-date on shots. This dog is one of the sweetest, most well-behaved girls you could ask for. She is great with other dogs and kids, and she likes cats, too! Please consider making Maggie a part of your family.
Here is Magnificent Maybelle! She was a stray who was pulled from a rural shelter just hours before she was to be euthanized! She was saved and SHE KNOWS IT! She is absolutely full of love and affection for everyone around her. Truly one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. She has no bad habits. She is house-broken. She is good with others (dogs, cats, and kids). She shows no signs of aggression and does not bark. Maybelle is a mix of blue-tick hound and coon-hound. She weighs 56 lbs and is approx. 7 years old. She is UTD on shots and is spayed. Please consider opening your heart & home to this amazing girl. She has so much love to offer and would be the greatest addition to any family.
This cute dog is currently named Benedict. "Benny" for short! Specific BIO to follow soon. (Update: Thanks to the Justice family, who gave Benny a home!)
If there was a posterchild dog for sweet, Millie would be it!!! Millie is a mix of Basset Hound and Yellow Lab! Approx. 80 pounds. She has the sweetest temperament imaginable! She is about 7 years old. She is fixed and has all her vacinnations. We are currently fostering her. She is outstanding with our other 3 dogs, 2 cats, and our 2 daughters. Whoever adopts Millie will be happy for life!
Miss Janey is moving!! Unfortunately, she cannot keep her two kitty cats. "Charlie" is a fixed male orange Tabby and is about 3 years old. He can be either an inside or outside cat. "Daisy" is a 5-yr-old female. She is also fixed. She is timid and very sweet. She prefers to be an outside cat. Please contact Janey or Karen if you want to give these wonderful kitties a home.
These two pretty friendly kitties are looking for a good home! The first one is longhair black with white, the second is a male tabby. They are both fixed and safe for the time being, but with winter coming, need permanent homes. Contact me 233-0954 for more info.
This is "Bosco" alias "CoaCoa"
The Trammells are fostering this beautiful
canine because she was on the short list
for euthanasia. We didn't think "Bosco"
suited her so we are calling her
"CoaCoa". CoaCoa is a mix of Labrador
with a little bit of Border Collie (we
think.) She is spayed. She weighs about
30 lbs. She is solid black except for a
little bit of brown hair right behind both
ears. She has a superb demeanor and
is getting along wonderfully with our 100
pound Black Lab, our 36 pound Sheltie,
and our 7 pound Pekenese (who
happens to be adoptee #1 below). We
are currently fostering CoaCoa for
ACPS on Forest Street.
If you are interested in adopting CoaCoa (Bosco), please contact Karen at or contact ACPS at (904) 630-CITY (2489). Remember, at ACPS, her name on file is "Bosco".
Adoptee #2... MEET "LANCE"...!
Lance is a gorgeous full-blooded male English Cream Golden Retriever.
He is 4 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.
His current owner lives right across the street from the Trammells, therefore we
can personally verify that he is in a good home.
Owner is giving him away simply because he jumps up on her 80 year old aunt.
He is an active dog. He has all his shots (distemper due in Nov.).
He is NOT fixed. Owner originally purchased dog to breed.
UPDATE: He has a new home!!!!
This is our first lovable creature. Adoptee #1!
This is Darla Kate
She is a 7-yr-old female Pekenese.
She weighs about 8 pounds.

Specifics: Rescued from Hoarder situation.
Currently fostered in Ortega and adoptable from ACPS.
Should be available for adoption early Sept.
